Description

Discover the untouched northeast of Crete, a land of wild beauty, rich traditions, and stories whispered through mountains, villages, and ancient paths. Join us for a day filled with nature, culture, and authentic Cretan life.

Our adventure begins the moment you’re picked up from your hotel. We head straight to our first highlight: the historic Milatos Cave. A short 200‑metre walk along an old stone footpath leads us to its entrance, offering breathtaking panoramic views over Milatos Bay. Here you’ll hear local legends and feel the spirit of the place. Afterwards, enjoy a tasting of local olive oil and honey, pure flavours of Crete.

We continue our drive up into the mountains on the eastern side of the island, where we visit the peaceful monastery of Xera Xyla. Along the way we spot goats living freely in the mountains and we pick some of the wild herbs that scent the air. As we drive through timeless mountain villages, you’ll get a glimpse of Cretan life as it has been lived for generations. Our journey leads us to Vlihadia, a small seaside settlement on the northern shores of Mirabello. Its quiet rocky beach invites you to cool off with a refreshing swim in crystal‑clear waters.

To savour the view a little longer, we stop for a traditional Cretan lunch right by the sea, complete with local wine and the sound of the waves. Recharged, we head back into the mountains toward Havgas Gorge, where you’ll enjoy a stunning “helicopter view” of the famous island of Spinalonga. Our final stop is the charming village of Fourni, where we relax with a coffee before making our way back to your hotel.
