Our day is the best way to explore the south of the island with traditional villages, caves, gorges, mythology and the local life here in Crete.

Starting our journey from Istron we head straight off road all the way to Kroustas via Prina where we make a coffee stop in the village of Kalamafka. From here there are panoramic views with the Cretan Sea to the north and Libyan Sea to the south. Whilst here you have the opportunity to visit a unique church, high upon a hill side situated in a cave. Continuing our journey towards the south coast we pass the Bramianon Dam, the largest reservoir supplying the south coast with water. We travel along the coast road through Males and via the river to approach over next stop at Sarakina Gorge. Here you have free time to walk and explore the gorge before we head back on track to the village of Christos and its local springs.

Passing through the Selakano forest we make our way to Katharo for a delicious traditional lunch with unlimited local Cretan wine! Once we’re all fully refreshed we travel to Kritsa where guests have free time to discover why it has been awarded a gold star for its olive oil and also experience village life and culture. Once back in the cars we slowly make our return journey past the memorial of a local legend and the stunning rugged Cretan scenery. This day is packed full of amazing photo opportunities with excitement second to none. You certainly won’t forget your fun day out on our Great Adventure!
