A thrilling journey through mountains, gorges, villages, and crystal‑blue waters, topped off with a Cretan lunch and a taste of local raki. An unforgettable day with Safari Club.

Description

Your journey begins as we head toward the legendary Mount Giouchtas, rising proudly above the landscape with sweeping views over the endless blue of the Aegean Sea. It’s no wonder Zeus chose this sacred mountain as his final resting place, the energy here is unmistakable. From the slopes of Giouchtas, we follow roads lined with vast vineyards until we reach a charming mountain village, where we join the locals for a traditional coffee and a taste of authentic Cretan hospitality.

The adventure continues along bumpy mountain roads, winding over hills dotted with ancient olive trees. Soon we arrive at the top of Tripiti Gorge, where a breathtaking panorama opens before you; impressive rock walls, wild Cretan herbs, and the shimmering Libyan Sea stretching into the horizon.

Descending toward one of Crete’s most picturesque gorges, we stop so you can walk the final 300 meters into the narrowest point of the canyon. Here, tucked into the rock face, you’ll discover the tiny church of Panagia, a hidden gem that feels like a step back in time. Next comes a well‑deserved break: free time for a refreshing swim in the crystal‑clear waters of the Libyan Sea. After your dip, we gather at a beachside taverna for a traditional Cretan lunch, complete with local wine and cool water, the perfect reward after a morning of exploration.

Recharged and relaxed, we make our way back toward the south coast, passing through small, character‑filled villages. Along the way, we stop for a final treat: a taste of our beloved local spirit, raki, and a moment to soak in the atmosphere.
This is a day full of surprises, unforgettable scenery, and genuine Cretan experiences.
