This day gives you the opportunity to explore the south east part of the island with traditional
villages and the true life of the residents. The mountains, forest and waterfall let you see the natural beauty.

Starting our journey, we head to Kavousi where we can see a “monumental” ancient olive tree with a life-span of more than 3200 years, before we continue the adventure going high up in the mountains where we find a combination of the Rocky Mountains, the scent of thyme and sage bushes and the unique view over Thripiti.

Coming over HA Gorge you can see both, the Aegean Sea and the Libyan Sea. We are passing thru some of the traditional villages where time has virtually stood still and make a break to meet the local people for a coffee in a ‘Kafeneion’. After we are meandering thru the evergreen Pine Forest of Thripiti where the trees can reach an age up to 1000 years.

Before the stomach starts to growl it goes to Agios Ioannis a small traditional village built at the slope of the hill. As you ascend the way to the village you enjoy an unlimited view of the settlement. The picture is impressive and prepossesses you for a pleasant walk in its traditional narrow roads. Here we stop for a traditional Cretan meal with unlimited wine.
Strengthened we drive to our last stop. Discover the Waterfall of Milonas which is situated in a little Forest. There’s more to a waterfall than just water, even when dry (roughly July to November) this is a marvelous nature walk. This is a day full of many surprises and the excitement is second to none, you certainly won’t forget your fun day out with Safariclub!!
